Michael Budden

Known for years as an award winning wildlife artist, Mike has shifted his interest to painting landscapes, seascapes, and still life with a focus on capturing light and design.  Using a painterly approach, his subject matter ranges from his native state of New Jersey and the eastern seaboard to the Rocky Mountains. His inspiration comes mostly from observing and painting directly from nature, whenever possible, and intense study of not only the deceased masters but of his contemporaries as well.

Now painting as an artist true to his inner spirit, Mike is again winning awards.  He is a two time winner of the Arthur T. Hill Memorial Award for the Best Landscape;  2008 Purchase Award, 2009 & 2012 Alden Bryan Memorial Award for Best Traditional Landscape in Oil at the Salmagundi Club, NY; The Gary T. Erbe Award, Allied Artist 2011 and 2012 Laumiester Award at the Nation Competition, Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, VT.

His paintings and prints can be found in many collections including three museums, galleries, national shows and private collections nationally and internationally.
