Peter resides in central Pennsylvania although he has family roots in Mystic, Connecticut. As a child he would frequently visit the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport while on vacation, feeling drawn to the marine art. Painting “en plein air” is a passion of his along with portraiture.
With the encouragement of his family and several artists who had seen his work, Peter decided to make fine art his vocation while in high school. Since then, he has apprenticed under Cedric Egeli of Edgewater, Maryland and David Lussier of Woodstock, Connecticut. He has studied under other professional artists as well.
His first professional show was the 2009 Paint Annapolis competition in which he won an Honorable Mention Award. In September 2010 Peter won a 1st place Marine Art Award at the Havre De Grace Plein Air Painting Competition. In June 2001 he won 2nd place for another marine art painting in Plein Air Camp Hill.
