Paul George
New England artist Paul George was born in Cambridge, MA. He has a B.. Northeastern University, Boston, MA. He studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and also with nationally renowned Artists and authors, Charles Reid, William Skip Lawrence, Jeanne Dobie and Robert Wade. Paul is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and a member of the Cape Cod, North Shore, New England Watercolor Society and former Vice President of the Rockport Art Association.
His work has been accepted in the American Watercolor Society show and he has won the Winsor & Newton Award for Excellence at the National Watercolor Society, as the American Artist Professional League Award at the Academic Artist Show. He won the Gold Medal at the New England Watercolor Show 2003. First Place New England 2006. First Place Duxbury 2006.
He published an article in Watercolor Magazine, winter 2000, International Artist Magazine 2005 and has been teaching watercolor workshops since 1996. “Painting Cape Ann, Monhegan Island, Pemaquid Light and Painting Florida’s Colors.”
Paul has been living in Gloucester since 1995. His work has been greatly inspired by the beautiful rocky coast and by fishing and sailing vessels of Gloucester since 1995.
