William Lowe

William Lowe has long been associated with fine art painting. His true love is painting the ocean, especially sailing ships at sea. Working mostly in oils, his true passion is to recreate California’s maritime history. Living along the coast in California allows him to view and paint these nautical scenes.

William’s maritime paintings have been in many exhibitions including: 1st Place Award at American Society of Marine Artists West; Aqueous IV Ventura Maritime Museum, California; American Society of Marine Artists 14th National Exhibition and the New England Traveling Exhibition 2008; Best of Show Award at the San Diego Maritime Museum A.S.M.A. Region 5 show, 2007; Three-man marine art invitational, Lido Yacht Club, Newport Beach, CA. Other shows include: International Marine Art Exhibitions at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport; Ventura County Maritime Museum, California; ASMA Western Members show; Aqueous II and III; Second and Third Place Award at Coos Bay Maritime Exhibition; ASMA Region 5 shows; 2001, 2002, and 2006, Artist Merit Award; National Watercolor Society Annual Competition; Brand Library, Annual Watercolor Competition.

William is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists and a United States Coast Guard Artist Member. His work is in the collection of the Newport Beach Nautical Museum, Mobil Oil Corporation, Stained Glass Studio of Design, Westminster, California and many private collections.
