Paul found himself drawn to marine subjects after his first visit to the island of Martha’s Vineyard 26 years ago. He became inspired by its rich maritime history and a great supply of subject matter in which he could express himself. He began to render the historic schooners, elegant racing yachts and whaling ships that cruised island waters.
