Angel Ramiro Sanchez
Angel Ramiro Sanchez, born in 1974 in Maracaibo, Venezuela, is an outstanding realist artist who is quite accomplished for his age. HisĀ paintings combine the accuracy of academic realism, with a passion for laying paint on the canvas. His portraits and landscapes evoke qualities last seen at the turn of the century from another expatriate painter of Florence, John Singer Sargent. Few realize that Sargent was trained in this academic approach, and his seemingly impromptu portraits were achieved only after many hours of sketching the subject. Ramiro Sancez’s paintings also show an intense attention to the relevant details of proportion, line, and shape, but with a creative and often expressive approach to completing the paintings.
Ramiro Sanchez started studying painting at 14 years old and moved to Florence at age 19. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the world famous Academia di Belle Arti in 1997. While at Belle Arti, Ramiro also studied at Daniel Graves’ atelier-styled Florence Academy of Art (FAA). He is now the senior painting instructor at the FAA, which allows him time to pursue his own work in a private studio. His works can be found in private collections in Italy, Germany, England, Hungary, the United States, Canada, and Venezuela.
