Robert Tandecki was born on a farm in Little Falls, Minn. then moved to Washington State as a small child. He always had an interest in art starting with crayons. His teachers encouraged him to continue to college as an art major. He then collected an AA degree in advertising art, but his interest was always fine art so he learned his favorite medium watercolor. He went became a full-time artist in 1980 and has never looked back.
His favorite subjects are the marine and rural environment of the Pacific Northwest in which he calls home. Bob has made several trips up the coast to Alaska with his camera to get ideas for his paintings. His hard work has paid off in winning several top awards and selling his works to collectors in many parts of the world. His most recent award was the 2003 Grand Prize winner of ‘Arts for the Parks’ mini 50. He was also featured in Artists magazine’s ‘Watercolor Magic’ in Feb. 2005 and Cruising magazine in 2005.
