Kim Weiland
Kim Weiland is a resident of Ocean City, New Jersey. He received his degree in 1976 from Tyler College of Art in Philadelphia, where a year in Europe helped him develop a deep appreciation of the classical style. Initially painting almost exclusively in watercolor, his paintings began in 1976 to record the ever-changing image of our rivers and shores. In the nineties he returned to the oil palette and extensively studied the styles of the Hudson River School and Thomas Eakins. Says Weiland, “Sometimes it is not what I paint but what is not painted that entices the mind to explore. Too much detail leaves nothing for the mind and spirit. It prevents emotion.”
