Children receive free admission!
Join us during President’s Day Weekend as we celebrate our winter reopening with family-fun activities. All children ages 17 and under will receive free admission when accompanied by a paying adult.
Back by popular demand, winter working dogs will visit Mystic Seaport to demonstrate various work tasks and also be available for petting. Newfoundlands will visit Saturday, February 14; St. Bernards will be on grounds Sunday, February 15; and Malamutes will visit Monday, February 16.
A special feature this year is the replica ship Mayflower II, which is being restored in the Museum’s Shipyard. View the ship and go on board and imagine what it was like for the Pilgrims to cross the Atlantic in 1620.
Try your hand at an art project, help build a life-sized milk jug igloo, and create a 19th-century winter scene at our Print Shop. Play games of long ago and listen to music and stories of the sea. Children are invited to build a toy boat keepsake (Saturday and Sunday only), stop by the Children’s Museum for story time, explore a sea chest, and get a kids’-eye view of the 1841 whaleship Charles W. Morgan.
Explore exhibits, climb aboard tall ships, see a Planetarium program, and more. Enjoy President’s Day Weekend at Mystic Seaport!
