His paintings have been featured in many shows including the Cape Cod Art Association’s All New England Show and National Show as well as The Guild of Boston Artists New England Representational Show. Shortly after his arrival on Cape Cod, he won First Place in the Cape Cod Art Assocations’ New Student Show under the tuition of Arnold Desmarias. In 2005 he was awarded Second Place in the Association’s Member Exhibition. In 2007 he won Best in Show in the Chatham Creative Arts Center All Cape Cod Exhibition. He was accepted into the 2010 International Marine Art Exhibition at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT and the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils. A Past Director of The Cape Cod Art Association, Stephen is a juried member of the Oil Painters of America Association and a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. His work was featured in the All New England Show, The Guild of Boston Artist New England Representational Show. After living and painting in five different countries, Stephen is now inspired by the scenery of coastal and maritime New England and particularly Cape Cod, which is his home. He prefers to paint en plein air and says “I need to be at one with my scene to capture on canvas the immediacy of time and place”. SOLD.
