In 2006, right around the time of the Great Recession, Steve launched his fine art gallery and despite the economy, his paintings found a home with collectors through galleries, art exhibitions and private websites. Steve paints fulltime in a renovated barn where he and his family lived for two years while they built their modified timer frame home in southeastern Washington. Steve is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) and has been showing his work at The Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT since 2010 in The International Marine Art Exhibitions, Modern Marine Masters, and Maritime Miniatures by Maritime Masters and the ASMA National Exhibition, a highly competitive and esteemed event that takes place every two years and ASMA shows in Minnesota, Wisconsin, California and Oregon. A member of the Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painter's Association and the Western Art Association, Steve has shown and sold his landscape and figurative work, in addition to his coastal paintings; at Best of America where he received an Award of Excellence; the Western Art Association Auction; the C.M. Russell Art Auction; the OPA Western United States Exhibition; and solo and group shows in private galleries. A semi-finalist in the Art Renewal Center's International Salon, Steve teaches workshops throughout the Pacific Northwest. His work is represented at the Lawrence Gallery, Sheridan, OR; Samarah Fine Art, Whitefish, MT; Xanadu Galleries, Scottsdale, AZ; and is licensed through OC Designer Source, Yorba Linda, CA and Soho Myriad, Atlanta, GA.
