Biography
Artist

Kent Ullberg is a native of Sweden and studied at the Swedish Konstfack School of Art in Stockholm and at museums in Germany, the Netherlands and France. His boyhood vacations were spent on his grandfather's fishing fleet in the North Sea between Sweden and Iceland. Later he travelled to South America on a Swedish Merchant Marine trawler and he was a Navy SEAL during his military duty. He lived for seven years in Botswana, Africa of which four years as curator at the Botswana National Museum and Art Gallery. He now makes his home in the United States along the Texas Gulf Coast. An avid fisherman and scuba diver, he has travelled the world studying marine wildlife in its natural habitat.

Ullberg is especially known for his monumental sculptures s.a. the Sailfish Fountain in front of the Brownard Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, one of the world's largest bronze wildlife sculptures, the 24ft stainless steel Swordfish Fountain at the world headquarters of the International Game Fish Association in Daia Beach, Fl, and also the King and Heir monument, a 9ft memorial to Roger Tory Peterson at the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium, Mystic, CT, and many more monumental sculptures dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of wildlife.

Kent's work has been shown in many parts of the world, s.a. the National Museum of Natural History, Stockholm Sweden, the Salon d'Automne, Paris, France; the National Gallery in Botswana, Africa, the Exhibition Hall in Geijing, China, the Guildhall in London, UK, the National Geographic Society in Washington, DC. Kent is an Academician at the National Academy in NYC, Fellow of the National Sculpture Society, NYC, Fellow at the American Society of Marine Artists, etc.
