Biography
Anthony Thompson

Tony is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of West Florida. Working in oil, Tony paints 19th and early 20th century maritime subjects, contemporary coastal scenes and local country scenes. His work has been influenced by sailing experiences in the Caribbean and the Delaware Bay, and his world travel experiences while enjoying a prior career in aviation.

Tony holds artist status in both the American Society of Marine Artis (ASMA) and the International Society of Marine Painters (ISMP). His work has been exhibited in the Pennsylvania State Museum, in Maritime Museums around the country and in ASMA Regional and National Exhibitions. His paintings are in the Bucks County Conservancy, Immaculata College, the US Coast Guard collection and many other corporate and private collections.

His work is shown in the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, with the Thomas M. Hoyne Award listed among his many accomplishments. Tony’s career has been featured in the Bucks County Town & Country Living magazine, and his work is included in A Gallery of Marine Art, by Rockport publishing.
