Del's work has received over 150 awards in worldwide competition. In 2006 he was the first recipient of Robert Sanstrom Prize and newly minted Gold Medal at the 53rd Annual Open Exhibition of the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. Other awards include; Best of Shows in the National Oil and Acrylic Painters, Best of America and Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 96th National Exhibition; the George Gray Award from the United States Coast Guard and the Region II Award in the National Parks Foundation's Arts for the Parks. Recent Awards include; The Award of Excellence at the 31st Annual International Marine Art Exhibition at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, (2010); the Narrative Excellence Award at the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Best of America (2010); the Joseph Hartley SCNY Award at the Salmagundi Club (2010); the Samuel E. Armour Memorial Award at the Academic Artists 60th National Exhibition (2010) and the Arches Paper Award at National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic 56th Annual (2010). Del's work was included in the National Parks Foundation's Arts for the Parks Top 100 Exhibitions form 2000-2006, when that program ended. He has had work juried into the International Marine Art Exhibitions at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport since 1998. Recent exhibits include; The Art of Conservation 2010, An International Exhibit of Nature in Art, PaintAmerica Top 100, Atlantic and Beyond, Marine Invitational at the Copley Society and American Masters at the Salmagundi Club. A number of art publications and other magazines have included articles on Del and his work, among them American Artist (2002), the Artists Magazine (2002), Watercolor Magic (2005), International Artist (2003) and American Art Collector (2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010), and Fine Art Connoisseur (2010). After 30 years in New York City, Del moved his home and studio to Pirate Hill in Mystic, CT in 2003 where he lives with his wife Kristen. He is represented by galleries from Maine to Florida. SOLD.
