The America's Cup World Series Finale
Thursday, June 28, 2012
12 noon - 4:30 p.m.
Newport, RI
The final stage of the 2011-2012 America's Cup World Series in the AC45 catamarans is in Newport, RI, from June 27 to July 1. Join us on board Rum Runner II, a 1929 high-speed launch, from a prime location on Narragansett Bay to watch the dramatic racing of these exciting, fast boats.
Dating back to 1930, Newport has strong historical ties to the America's Cup and has played host to some of the most legendary racing battles in the competition's 160-year-old history. This finale in particular will be quite memorable as it is the first series of races in Newport with the new rigid wingsail yachts. The shore is bound to be crowded and many spectator boats will be on the water, but Rum Runner II will be positioned to observe the multi-hull designs as they fly around the race course.
Rum Runner II will depart from Bannister's Wharf in Newport at 12 noon. Complimentary parking stickers will be provided at the Gateway Visitor Center. Attendees are welcome to bring snacks and beverages on board.
This event is sold out, tickets are no longer available.
