Mystic Seaport Boathouse Rentals

Rent a rowboatExplore the historic Mystic River firsthand at the Mystic Seaport Boathouse. Rent a classic small wooden boat to row or sail, cruise in style with a licensed captain aboard our Museum-built catboat, or enjoy a half-hour sail with our skipper aboard the 26-foot 1917 Herreshoff Launch, Resolute. Museum admission is required for rowboat/sailboat rentals. All waterfront activities end for the season on Columbus Day.

Twenty traditional small craft from Mystic Seaport's collection are available for rent to qualified boaters:

Boat Rides

The Breck MarshallThe Breck Marshall, a 20-foot Crosby catboat reproduction, provides many a unique adventure beneath her billowing sails. During a smooth and quiet ride, passengers relax in her roomy cockpit while the skipper identifies points of interest on the Mystic River shoreline. The Breck Marshall offers 30-minute rides, weather permitting. Sails run between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are sold at the Boathouse. Museum admission is required. Resolute - Enjoy a half-hour sail with a licensed captain aboard the 26-foot 1917 Herreshoff Launch, Resolute. Sails run between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $4 and are sold at the Boathouse. Museum admission is required. Limit 6 passengers per voyage. Enjoy a private charter aboard Resolute.

Charter Araminta - The ketch designed by L. Francis Herreshoff and built in 1954 by Norman Hodgdon of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, is available for day charters in Fishers Island Sound. She is in excellent shape and very responsive to the helm. This is exhilarating sailing in a yacht designed for comfortable day sails. Araminta can be chartered during working hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June through October. Licensed skipper provided. Up to four agile crew members maximum. Member rate: $350 / Non-member rate: $375. Call 860.572.0711, ext. 5094 for details. An Araminta charter does not require Museum admission.
