'Tweendecks Plan of Joseph Conrad
The Joseph Conrad's 'tweendecks area is divided into three main areas. The two large cabins ('Midships' and the 'Forecastle') each have their own entryways and bathrooms ('heads'). The Wardroom area is off limits, being reserved for staff and shipkeeping only.
Forecastle: (Foc's'le) Pronounced 'foke-sul'. The Forecastle is the forward most living quarters. There are 25 bunks, 2 showers, 2 sinks and 2 toilets.
Midships: Located in the center of the vessel, Midships is the larger of the two living quarters, containing 30 bunks, 2 showers, 3 sinks and 3 toilets.
Wardroom: Formerly the officers' living quarters, this area is reserved for the maintenance needs of the ship and for staff only.
