As a Sailing Assistant you act as a big brother or big sister to the campers. You are a role model. You look out for their best interests and help keep the peace. You also help campers make friends, learn to sail, and feel safe and supported while away from home. You maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to listen and help. You are a valuable member of our staff. Safety, supervision, and fun are the most important things that you will help to provide while here at camp. These three things help ensure a great camper stay.

We do not tolerate the use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs. We do not tolerate excessive negative attitudes, abusive language or behavior. Behaviors or conversations which would be deemed inappropriate for the 10 - 15 age bracket are not tolerated. Use of the above mentioned items, or difficulties with the behavior and language guidelines will result in you dismissal from the Sailing Assistant Program. Your travel expenses home are you own responsibility in the event of termination.

Sailing Assistants are expected to remain on the museum grounds at all time from Sunday's arrival between 1:30 and 2 p.m. to Friday's departure around 4 p.m. If you have driven your own car here, you will be asked to park it in the south parking lot, lock it, and report your license plate number to security.
