34th Annual International Marine Art
Exhibition and Sale
September 15 - December 31, 2013
Artist's Walk hosted on September 14 at 10:30 a.m.
The 34th annual International Marine Art Exhibition will feature more than 100 new paintings, sculpture, scrimshaw, and ship models from today's award-winning masters of marine art from around the world. Each work captures the enduring wonder and beauty of our seafaring world with scenes of majestic tall ships, racing yachts, coastal scenes of waterways, beach and marshlands, marine wildlife, and the working boats and people whose lives and fortunes depend on the sea.
An Artist's Walk will be hosted Sunday, September 14, at 10:30 a.m. Join us and listen as the artists talk about how they created their piece in the International and what inspires them to produce their art.
Nine prestigious named awards and six awards of excellence -- including the Rudolph J. Schaefer Maritime Heritage Award, which recognizes the work that best documents our maritime heritage, past or present, for future generations -- will be awarded by invited judges.
All works in the exhibition will be available to view daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Admission to the Maritime Gallery is free and a portion from all Gallery purchases helps support maritime preservation work at Mystic Seaport.
