Hearth Cooking Class

Enjoy a warm and friendly environment as you learn to use a variety of cooking techniques to make a traditional 19th century meal in the Buckingham-Hall House. All materials are provided. For ages 12 and up. You bring your curiosity and appetite! Class registration includes a delicious hearth-cooked supper, plus a copy of The American Frugal Housewife by Lydia Child.Hearth Cooking

Please note: Cancellations made with 30+ days' notice will be refunded less a 25% fee. Cancellation 15-29 days prior to class will be refunded less a 50% fee. Cancellations with 14 days' notice or less are not refundable.


Stitch in Time: Sew a 19th Century Doll Dress

Cut, sew, and trim a 19th century dress for an 18-inch doll while learning about women's and girls' fashions of the 1870s! Classes are held at Mystic Seaport's costume shop where all the Museum's period clothing for the Historic Roleplaying program and Lantern Light Tours are made.
All materials and patterns are provided. Bring your 18-inch doll and a friend or family member. Open to individuals or pairs (prices are per dress, not per person). This is a 3-part class held on three consecutive Saturdays.
