Meet the Actors

The success of many of our performance-based programs, including Tale of a Whaler, Maritime Mystery, and Dinner Theater, are due in large part to the outstanding acting and tireless dedication of the TaleMaker actors. Below you'll meet the actors that make the summer events at Mystic Seaport great!

Chuck Lines

CHUCK LINES is happy to be back in Connecticut for the summer after attending the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in the spring. He is originally from DuBois, Pennsylvania, is a senior at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, and expects to graduate in December with a B.A. in Drama. He is thoroughly enjoying his experience as one of the Mystic Seaport TaleMakers and hopes that audiences are having as much fun as he is.

In the unforgettable play Ile by Eugene O'Neill, Chuck plays the Steward and Joe the Harpooner! See Chuck again as the nervous printer Mr. Brayer during Mystic Seaport's Maritime Mystery.

Jaime Mire

JAIME MIRE is a young performer and budding playwright from San Antonio, Texas. She made her East Coast debut this past Spring at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center through the National Theater Institute program, and is overjoyed to be in Connecticut again for the summer, working as a TaleMaker at Mystic Seaport. This fall Jaime will return to Texas to complete her senior year at Trinity University, where she will graduate with degrees in Drama and Communication in May 2010. She is thrilled to be a part of such unique and immersive theatre, and encourages all who have the opportunity this summer to share in the experience.

During our Maritime Mystery: A Summer Whodunit Jaime plays the injured victim and then she tackles the challenging role of Mr. Slocum during our production of Eugene O'Neill's Ile.

Christopher Rushing

CHRISTOPHER RUSHING is a young, professional actor living and working out of New York City. He acquired his B.F.A. in acting at Marymount Manhattan College. He has most recently been seen as Jim Casy in "The Grapes of Wrath" and Eric in "In the Boom Boom Room", both at The Theresa Lang Theatre. Christopher is enjoying his summer in beautiful Mystic and can't wait to get back to the big city to sniff out the next engaging project.

Meet Captain Savage, the salvager turned fisherman, played by Christopher, as one of the likely suspects in our Maritime Mystery caper. Join us again for our Dinner Theater production of Ile by Eugene O'Neill when Christopher returns as the ile-crazed Captain Keeney!

Casey Trascik

CASEY TRASCIK is a recent graduate of Florida State University's BFA Acting Program. She also studied in London before relocating to New York City. She was most recently scene in Sundog Theatre Company's Production of Scenes from the State Island Ferry. Other roles include Elizabeth in Six Degrees of Separation and Helena in Uncle Vanya.

Casey plays the troubled Mrs. Keeney in Eugene O'Neill's Ile and then as the feisty lighthouse keeper with an eye for Cpt. Savage in Mystic Seaport's Maritime Mystery.

Emily Zemba

EMILY ZEMBA is a Theatre major at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, concentrating in Acting and Playwriting. She graduates in 2010 and plans to pursue a career in theatre. Emily is from nearby Old Lyme, and has grown up visiting and volunteering at Mystic Seaport. She has worked with local theatres such as The Ivoryton Playhouse and a Norwich community theatre. Emily is pleased to be back at Mystic Seaport for her second year as a TaleMaker. She feels honored to be a part of the new theatre projects the Seaport is undertaking this summer and is excited to see what will come next.

During Maritime Mystery, Emily acts in the playful role of the town 'twit' Miss Bringhurst. Then she really shows us her acting talent as she embodies the role of Ben in the one-act play of Ile.
