Hands-On History Experiential Program

Offered for grades 4 - 6

Immerse your students in the life of a 19th-century seaport village through any three of the following hands-on activities. They may be apprentices in the Shipsmith, Carve Shop or Print Shop; learn to cook on an open hearth; meet a roleplayer or hear a chantey performance; make a craft to take home; and board the L.A. Dunton.

Offered: November - March

Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (includes travel time between Museum activity locations and lunch on your own)

Group Size: 30 students minimum, 120 maximum

Chaperones: 1 adult per 10 students; 2 are recommended

Fees: $16 per person. Cost is for this program only and does not include admission to the Museum grounds. If you wish to visit the Museum regular group admission rates apply.

Chaperone Policy

One adult is required -- two are recommended -- for every 10 students. Chaperones are required to stay with their group at all times and are responsible for the safety and behavior of all students.
