Adult Community Sailing (ages 15 and older)
Adult community sailing at Mystic Seaport is an unparalleled experience. There is no better place to learn how to raise the sails and capture the wind than amongst the tall ships of old. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced sailor, adult community sailing programs touch on all skill levels and are offered at convenient times. Spring and fall classes are offered over six, three-hour sessions. Summer classes are offered over four, four-hour sessions. Custom-designed programs are available.
While some instruction takes place in a classroom-like setting, the majority of class time is spent on the water in either a Dyer Dhow or JY15. All equipment, except foul-weather gear, is provided. You may bring your own personal floatation device (PFD) or feel free to use one of ours.
To enroll in adult community sailing classes, students must be competent swimmers ages 15 and older. Under the age of 15? Click here for youth sailing. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a health and registration form.
