Museum Small Craft Association Union List

The Museum Small Craft Association's (MSCA) Union List is a database which includes physical data for 1745 watercraft, usually under 40'LOA, owned by 36 Maritime Museums in the United Sates and Canada. The list serves as a collecting aid for museum curators and as a research and finding aid for a wider base of enthusiasts.

While most of the boats listed are from larger museums, MSCA is actively seeking the participation of smaller, locally focused museums. Users of this list can help by alerting MSCA to institutions which hold unlisted boats. MSCA can offer these institutions considerable help in understanding the standardized terms used and making other expert advice available. In some cases, site visits can be made.

The Union List has been underwritten at various times by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, WoodenBoat Magazine, the National Park Service, Independence Seaport Museum, as well as Mystic Seaport where it is now located.
