comm_sing_kid.jpgWant to enjoy our annual Community Carol Sing and Mystic Seaport for free? Bring a canned good for a local charity. Last year, nearly 3,000 visitors donated almost 5,000 pounds of food. All food items are distributed by the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

Explore all of the Museum's historic ships and exhibits which open at 10 a.m. Listen to the holiday sounds of the Mystic Seaport carolers as they perform a special concert in the Greenmanville Church at 2 p.m. The day concludes with a joyous carol sing at 3 p.m., led once again by Jamie Spillane, the former Ledyard High School choral director who now travels from Iowa to lead this annual tradition. The carol sing will be backed by the Mystic Seaport carolers and a brass quartet.

Additionally, the Treworgy Planetarium will present "The Star of Bethlehem," a show that explores the splendor of the winter skies, merging science, mythology, religious observance, winter traditions and music. Showtimes are at 12, 1, and 2 p.m. and visitors are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to each program. Tickets for this planetarium program are FREE!
