Dusan Kadlec:
Art and the Essence of Historic Portrayal
Fans of Maritime history, take note! The Mystic Seaport Printshop has announced the addition of two very special canvas giclee prints, by the extremely talented, old world style artist, Dusan Kadlec. "Hartford, by Moonlight" and "Hartford Waterfront", depict our Connecticut capitol as it is preserved in historic memory during the 19th century. Dusan, a native of Czechoslavakia, and a Masters Degree graduate of The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, has made his home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has found inspiration in researching and painting, and thus preserving the scenes of many historic port cities and scenes, using the traditional style of the great European masters. Mr. Kadlec is a member of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists, and Mystic Seaport is proud to publish his prints and to represent his work. His art would be equally at home in a residential setting, or as a special highlight in an office space. The special qualities of light, the accurate detail and mood portrayed in each of his pieces, are not to be missed!
