Star - Noank Fish and Lobster Boat
The Preservation Shipyard hauled Star out of the water in October 2003 for major restoration. Many of her forward frames and much of her planking were replaced. A new stem was added in February 2004.
Designed by Eldridge and built at Eldridge Boat Shop, Noank, Conn., 1949-1950, Star was built for swordfishing and tuna fishing south of Montauk, Long Island. Star was owned by Captain Jack Wilbur until 1969, when she was sold to James Giblin. Star came to Mystic Seaport in 1976.
