Small Craft Workshop

June 28-30, 2013
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Small Craft Workshop at Mystic SeaportThe John Gardner Small Craft Workshop will be hosted during the 22nd annual WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport Friday - Sunday, June 28-30. The workshop is jointly sponsored by the Traditional Small Craft Association (TSCA), Mystic Seaport, and WoodenBoat. Those participating are encouraged to share their boats - including peapods, whitehalls, sharpie skiffs, wood and canvas canoes, kayaks, performance rowing craft, dories, dinghies and tenders - with other registered boaters during this three-day celebration.

Boats from the Mystic Seaport Boathouse will be available at no charge for workshop participants to use. Demonstrations of skills that enhance the traditional small boat experience will be held daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Participants can stay onboard the Joseph Conrad on Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. all workshop attendees are invited to join in a cruise to Mason's Island.

Attendees will be asked to help with the workshop by volunteering at the TSCA booth for a two-hour period and/or giving a demonstration of a skill such as sail rigging, sculling, boat building, or hardware making. If you have a skill that you would like to demonstrate, download the registration form and either mail to Reservations, Mystic Seaport, PO Box 6000, Mystic, CT 06355 or fax to 860.572.5398. For more information, please contact David Wyman at 207.326.9406.
