Henry Mayo Boston Codfish Balls humorous trade card; Boston Codfish Balls card with personified fish; view of a codfish and a codfish ball walking with arms locked (the codfish is holding a can of codfish balls in its other hand); text reads "We're walking by the Sea/ Away from Marble Halls,/ And happy Can we be/ When formed in Codfish Balls./ 'Two Souls with but a single thought,/ Two Hearts that beat as one.'/ BOSTON CODFISH BALLS,/ Packed only by/ HENRY MAYO & CO."; good condition. (Patent for this product was obtained March, 1878, in Boston; codfish balls were made with parts from codfish and potatoes, cooked and sealed together.
