It’s all hands on deck at the Discovery Barn!
The exhibit, “Force in Motion at Sea,” is an activity-rich space designed for families and school groups. Themed around the fishing schooner L.A. Dunton, it explores the scientific principles behind a ship’s sail power, stability, hull shape, and the simple machines involved in running it.
Attached to the Barn is the carriage shed from the Baptist Church in Winthrop, Connecticut, which was built before 1866 and moved to the Museum in 1954. It is used to house the draft horses used for horse and carriage rides.
