Morgan Model
Here’s a radio controlled model of the Morgan that’s on display at the Visitor’s Reception Center (the main entrance to the museum). The model has phenomenal detail, and is a good reference if you need to orient yourself when looking at some of the blog photos.
The model is a 1/2″ to 1′ scale. It was made by Bill Huizing of Summit, New Jersey. He spent 4,000 hours over two years building this. It is equipped with six servo-mechanisms that control the model’s motor, rudder, mast, and jibs independently. As the masts rotate, the spars catch catch the wind in the sails, enabling the vessel to move across the water.
