From a 61-foot schooner with billowing sails to a 33-foot auxiliary ketch designed by L. Francis Herreshoff, our Boathouse offers unique charter options that guarantee lifelong memories. Boathouse charters do not require Museum admission.
This 33-foot centerboard yawl designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff and built in 1926 by Herreshoff Mfg. Co. in Bristol, Rhode Island, is available for day charters in Fishers Island Sound. The vessel was restored by Doug Hylan in Brooklin, Maine, who sought to return Aida as close as possible to her original condition. Aida was owned for more than 40 years by former Museum staff member and trustee, Maynard Bray, and his wife, Anne.
- Up to six participants may charter Aida (a licensed captain will be provided). Please board the vessel at the Museum’s Boathouse.

This 33-foot auxiliary ketch designed by L. Francis Herreshoff and built in 1954 by Norman Hodgdon of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, is available for day charters in Fishers Island Sound. In excellent shape and very responsive to the helm, Araminta provides exhilarating sailing in a yacht specifically designed for comfortable day sails.
- Up to four agile participants may charter the vessel (a licensed captain will be provided). Araminta sails out of Dodson Boatyard in Stonington, Connecticut.
