Tony’s mission is simply as follows: “Capture scenes of everyday life that are too often overlooked. The resulting work conveys my idealized interpretation of the subject matter.”
Beginning employment as a commercial artist/illustrator, he has enjoyed a successful career in the corporate world working for such companies as PepsiCo, Playtex and American Home Products. He later founded his own promotional marketing agency, Creative Alliance, based in Southport CT. The client roster included, The Pepsi-Cola Company, AT&T, Tiffany & Company, ebay and the Guinness Importing Company. Evolving into one of the top promotion and event marketing agencies in the US, Tony later sold the company to the Publicis Group, an international advertising and media services conglomerate.
Channeling creativity into a full-time career as a fine artist, Tony studied with a number of nationally recognized artists such as Donald Demers, Matt Smith, Ray Roberts, Mark Boedges, and Phil Starke. His friendship with Don Demers has had the greatest impact on his approach to painting and has led to many other friendships with fellow painters that share a dedication to marine art. Painting regularly in various locales, primarily at Don’s cottage in Maine, there are engaging and lively discussions regarding historical and contemporary painting. In fact, the subject matter of his work is most often fueled by plein air experiences along the east and west coasts of the US.
Tony has been in many selected shows and has won numerous awards including an Award of Excellence in the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Exhibition and a Finalist for the Best Water Award from Plein Air Magazine. He is Signature Member of the The American Impressionist Society, as well as a Member of the Salmagundi Club NY, The Oil Painters of America, National Oil Painters & Acrylics Society, Connecticut Plein Air Painters, and Lyme Art Association.
