William ( Bill ) Lowe has long been associated with fine art painting. His interest is depicting the ocean and ships at sea. He is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). He has received formal art training at the college level and he has taken art classes by well know local artists including a class by John Stobart.
He has exhibited works at both the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport International Exhibitions and the Coos Bay Maritime Art Exhibit. He has won many awards including: First, Second and Third place Awards at the Ventura County Maritime Museum, American Society of Marine Artists Region five art competitions, also a Best of Show Award at the American Society of Marine Artists, Region Five Show at the San Diego Maritime Museum. His art was also accepted and shown at the National Watercolor Society annual competition and the Brand Library annual watercolor competition.
William was illustrated in the 30th Anniversary of the American Society Of Marine Artists “Contemporary American Marine Art”, 2008-2009 edition, page 12. He also exhibited at Chase Center on the Riverfront, Wilmington, DE, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels, MD the Noyes Museum of Art, Oceanville, NJ, Spartanburg Art Center, SC and the New Bedford Art Museum, MA.
His work was recently accepted into the Knowlton Art Gallery, 2013 Marine Artists of the West Coast Show. He received Honorable Mention at the Laguna Beach Art’s Commission Show and Ventura County Maritime Museum Aqueous V Shows.
