Robert Rasche

Robert was born in Beverly, Massachusetts and grew up on the north shore of Boston spending much of his childhood at the ocean in Wells, Maine. During the summers in Maine, he learned about coastal life, including, fishing, sailing and underwater diving. Plus, he worked with designers and gallery owners from the age of 13.

Besides his career as professional graphic artist for over 35 years,  Robert has been a member of the Art Community since 1971. As a member of the Reading, Massachusetts Art Society,  he participated regularly in local shows. As a student, he won many awards, including a National Gold Medal in Oil Painting from the Scholastic Art Awards program. During high school and early college, which included classes at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, he was sponsored by a Kennebunkport art gallery. They funded the printing of 16 limited edition prints of New England scenes depicting coastal life.  With scholarships, he attended Syracuse University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1981. During those college years, he was awarded a Ford Foundation grant, won several school awards for achievement and had several individual shows.

Robert’s work can be found in galleries around New England. In particular, the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, Mystic, CT; Sheldon Fine Art Gallery, Newport RI;  Wynn-Falconer Gallery, Chatham, MA;  Framer’s Art Gallery, Wells ME; Herringbones Design Shop, Ogunquit, ME and Portsmouth, NH.  His work has been collected by patrons for over 40 years and displayed internationally in private collections and in commercial businesses.
