A Watercolor Workshop in the Tradition of J.M.W. Turner: Painting Boats, Sloops, Schooners, and the Sea with Mood and Emotion
January 18, 2020 - January 20, 2020
Mystic Seaport Museum is pleased to present a Watercolor Painting Workshop with Joel Popadics, AWS. During this three-day workshop, artists of all levels will learn how to paint boats, sloops, schooners, and the sea in the tradition of British artist J.M.W. Turner.
Morning and afternoon sessions will begin with a painting demonstration. Topics will include how to paint boats, harbors, water reflections, skies, moody weather, and all things related to the sea. Particular attention will be devoted to drawing seagoing vessels of all kinds. After each demonstration, you’ll have an opportunity to paint and apply the concepts presented. Individual instruction will be provided throughout the day, and participants will have an opportunity to tour the exhibition J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors from Tate with Joel, gaining a unique perspective through the eyes of an artist.
Joel has provided a Supply List.
