On March 9, Exploring the Dynamics of Moving Surf in Oils by William D. Hobbs; Inspirations from Nature and the Historic Traditions of the Hudson River School
Amidst decades as a water-sport enthusiast, Hobbs has sought to explore those aspects of moving water that has always held his fascination. Building on natural observation, he will demonstrate his techniques to help viewers appreciate and explore the wonders of the surf. Hobbs will also talk of the marine art traditions among the American Hudson River School painters. He senses a deep connection with the vision of such painters as William Trost Richards and William Stanley Haseltine and will discuss their influence on his art.
