Codfish Fry at the Open Hearth

Explore the life of a fisherman through a cultural, historic, and culinary tour. Travel back a century or two as we tour a range of historic fisheries at Mystic Seaport Museum. Then, snack on some hardtack on the way to the Buckingham-Hall House where, as a group, we will prepare some sailor-favorites over the open-hearth including delicious codfish cakes using the salt cod preserved here. Registration includes a weevil-free meal and a copy of Sandra Oliver’s Saltwater Foodways Companion Cookbook. Our experienced staff will guide you through the cooking process. Enjoy your fishcakes hot out of the pan, or take a couple home. Served with a side of slaw.
