Join us for a special screening event at the Mystic Luxury Cinemas featuring Jon Wilson, the founder of Woodenboat Magazine. Life on the Water produced this cinematic portrait of the man who took on a monumental task to change the course of wooden boat history. Movie snacks and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event. Come at 2 p.m. to mingle in the private lounge or view Life on the Water’s documentary about Warwick Tompkins titled “A Lifetime at Sea.” Our feature presentation begins at 3:20 p.m. followed by a Question and Answer session with Jon Wilson and the film’s director, Oleg Harencar.
This Q&A session will be introduced by special guest Llewellyn Howland, accomplished maritime author, historian, Library Fellow, and lifelong friend of Mystic Seaport.
Jon has special ties to Mystic Seaport. He has served on the Board of Trustees since 1988; becoming an emeritus trustee in 2002. In 2012, he was the recipient of the Museum’s America and the Sea Award, along with WoodenBoat.
This event will be held at the Mystic Luxury Cinemas in Olde Mistick Village (27 Coogan Blvd, Mystic, CT)
