Member NYC Trip – National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey and Rockefeller Center
December 11, 2019
Visit NYC for the holidays and experience the groundbreaking immersive adventure of the National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey. Constructed in the New York Times former press and reel rooms in Times Square, Ocean Odyssey is a breath-taking interactive underwater journey across the Pacific Ocean. Through cutting edge technology, participants are transported to extraordinary places and into the home of the ocean’s most incredible creatures.
The adventure begins with a guided tour of the Pacific Ocean. Participants will experience a coral reef at night, various sea life including playful sea lions, and a feeding frenzy – just to name a few. This tour lasts about 45 minutes and will be followed by time on your own in Exploration Hall.
Program Note: The Encounter is an immersive, interactive cinematic experience and at times includes loud sound effects and large imagery which may be challenging for some people.
At 1 p.m., the group will board the bus to visit Rockefeller Center. There are a myriad of restaurants and shops as well as the famed Christmas Tree in the Center. The group will have time to explore, shop, and dine at their own pace before boarding the bus at 4 p.m. to return to Mystic. Our estimated arrival back in Mystic is 7 p.m.
