Member Preview: J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors from Tate
Join us on Saturday, October 5 for an exclusive preview of Mystic Seaport Museum’s newest exhibit – J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors from Tate before the doors open to the public at 9 a.m.
Following the exhibit preview, coffee and pastries will be provided at the Membership Lounge.
Mystic Seaport Museum is the only North American venue for this milestone exhibition of nearly 100 of the celebrated British painter J.M.W. Turner’s watercolor masterpieces. It will provide an exceptional opportunity to see key works spanning Turner’s entire career.
Following the Member Preview and Breakfast, Mystic Seaport Museum’s Senior Vice President for Curatorial Affairs, Nicholas Bell, will be joined by David Blayney Brown, the Tate Manton Senior Curator of British Art 1790-1850 and curator of the exhibition J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors from Tate to discuss the artist and this extraordinary collection. This event is FREE and begins at 10:30 a.m. in the River Room at Latitude 41 Restaurant.
Space is limited for the talk at 10:30 a.m. Members can register for both the preview and the talk by calling Central Registration at 860.572.5331.
*Members may bring guests to the member preview. Guests will need to pay discounted admission for their day’s visit at check-in. Member guest admission tickets are $4 off of the regular admission prices.
