Navigation Symposium: The History and Future of Celestial Navigation

November 3 - November 5

A weekend gathering of practical navigators, experts in navigation theory, and historians of science devoted to topics in celestial navigation, both historical and modern. Keynote speaker and opening events will take place on Friday, November 3, and presentations and papers will occur throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 – 5. The event will be hosted by the NavList community and the Treworgy Planetarium at Mystic Seaport.

Please note that this is NOT a NavList meeting. This is a conference on celestial navigation, history and future, theory and practice, of which the NavList community forms a significant component. It is a meeting open to navigation professionals, practitioners, and enthusiasts, as well as historians of science and mathematics, and anyone interested in the topic of celestial navigation.
