Powerboat Handling Class (all ages welcome) – This Class Has Been Cancelled Or Postponed.
April 25 - May 2
Due to COVID-19, this class has been cancelled or postponed. If you have registered for this event, you will be contacted by the Museum to receive more information!
Join us to learn about powerboats and small marine outboard engine operation. Whether you’re brand new to boating or just want to get an early start to the 2020 season – this two-day class is for you! This class will cover safety and regulations, rules of the road, charting and navigation tools, maneuvering, docking, basic engine maintenance and troubleshooting, and more. This is a hands-on class: all students over the age of 16 must have their safe boating certificate through DEEP to participate. All students ages 12-15 are highly encouraged to have their certificate as well. The class is taught on an 18’ center console Eastern and 13’ tiller outboard Carolina skiffs, by a USCG licensed captain.
April 25 and May 2, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
This programming is made possible by the generosity of the J. Orin Edson Family.
