Great Gull Island Talk
Great Gull Island lies at the eastern end of the Long Island Sound and has the largest nesting concentration of the endangered species of Roseate Terns in the Western Hemisphere. Helen Hays, director of the Great Gull Island Project, has been managing the island since 1969. She and her colleagues are running the database detailing the family history, hatching records, and locations of nests. Helen will join us to share the history and relevance of this island and the important research that she and her colleagues conduct. Members-only trips will be available to Great Gull Island in July 2017. Come learn about this fascinating place and sign up for one of our trips.
A members-only trip to Great Gull Island is scheduled for August 12, 2017. Please contact the membership office for more details.
