Tintype Photographs by Rob Gibson
Rob Gibson travels the back roads of America on his vintage Harley Davidson with the “world’s fastest darkroom” sidecar in search of subjects for his antique wet plate cameras.
Sign up for a 20-minute sitting between 9:30 – 4:30 ($30), and you can take home your very own 4” x 5” tintype! (Pro tip: This would make an AMAZING Father’s Day gift!) You will receive one print to take with you, and you may order additional prints directly from Rob. Individuals and small groups welcome!
Participants should park in the North lot, and enter Mystic Seaport Museum through the Thompson Exhibition Building. Museum admission is required for non-members.
Participants are welcome to wear whatever they wish (i.e. period costumes or plain clothes are fine), provided it adheres with our regular policies.
Photographs will be taken on Chubbs Wharf. We are asking participants to arrive at Chubbs Wharf 5-10 minutes before their appointed sitting time; Rob Gibson will have a list of people who have signed up.
Rob will also be performing narrated demonstrations at noon and 2 p.m.
Refunds will be issued if the program needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather.
