The Trade Shops and Businesses at Mystic Seaport Museum
The trade shops and businesses in the Museum’s Village are buildings and shops that one would find in a New England village in the 1800s. Most of the buildings featured here are original and not replicas. They were transported to Mystic Seaport Museum from all over the region with most arriving in the 1950s-1960s. From shipsmiths and coopers, to woodcarvers and druggists, discover how America’s maritime past shaped life today.
