The gazebo on the Village Green with Clift Block looming behind it.Like a community’s village green, this open space is used for activities, concerts, and simple recreation. The mast on the water side is used for a demonstration of the U.S. LifeSaving Service breeches buoy rescue drill in the warmer months.

The bandstand came from Fort Wright, a coastal artillery installation on Fishers Island, New York, just south of Mystic. It was built in 1938 to replace the fort bandstand destroyed in the 1938 hurricane, and it was moved to the Museum in 1960. The Clift Block on the corner was moved to the site in 1956 and serve as office space.
